A Day in the Life
The Simulation Program Manager leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of simulation-based training and education programs for medical and academic professionals. This role manages a portfolio of complex simulation projects, oversees cross-functional teams, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to drive innovation in procedural, technology, and product adoption, ultimately improving patient outcomes.At Medtronic, we bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything we do. Key Responsibilities:
Program & Project Management
Oversee a portfolio of simulation projects, including hardware/software specification, vendor management, testing, and launch activities (e.g., Next Gen EVICD Simulator, Beating Heart Simulator, Epicardio App, 3D Path Models).
Develop operational plans, establish policies, and implement strategies for simulation initiatives.
Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and budgets; ensure timely delivery and quality of simulation products.
Facilitate weekly meetings with engineering, modeling, and training teams; prioritize feedback from global trainers and subject matter experts
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Serve as primary liaison with vendors, clinicians, and internal teams to define requirements, coordinate builds, and manage testing and documentation.
Communicate business and operational developments to stakeholders; use influence and active persuasion to gain cooperation and alignment.
Participate in conventions, forums, and symposia to promote simulation products and procedural awareness.
Leadership & Talent Development
Lead, coach, and develop a team of professionals and supervisors; conduct performance reviews and guide employee development.
Authorize hiring, promotion, and reward decisions within the simulation program area.
Foster engagement, inclusion, and continuous improvement within the team.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Propose modifications to operating policies and processes to enhance simulation program effectiveness.
Gather and analyze detailed information to solve complex, undefined problems in simulation development and deployment.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years related simulation, clinical or program management experience, or advanced degree with minimum 3 years experience
Advanced knowledge in project management, simulation technology, and medical education
Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex projects in a healthcare or technology environment
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and vendor negotiation skills
Nice to Have:
Experience with simulation hardware/software development, AR/VR applications, and anatomical modeling.
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and adapt to evolving technology and training needs.
Demonstrated success in driving product adoption and improving patient outcomes through innovative education solutions.
Clinical or direct patient care experience
