Title: Community Navigation Manager
Unit: Atlas Workforce Program
Salary: $72,000 to $78,000
Reports to: Program Director, Outreach
Status: Full Time; Regular, Exempt
Location: 502 East 163rd Street, Bronx, NY 10451
Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise Community Navigators’ efforts in relentlessly engaging participants through consistent outreach efforts;
- Promote a trauma-informed approach, teaching outreach staff its significance and application;
- Model and instill high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in the team;
- Facilitate positive, participant-driven interactions, emphasizing restorative practices;
- Supervise Community Navigators’ efforts to work hand in hand with the transitional job provider staff to support participants’ success in Atlas workforce;
- Provide mentoring to Community Navigators in their role of providing supportive case management to participants;
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports; manage data entry into relevant systems;
- Regularly review Community Navigators’ documentation (case notes, incident reports, etc.) to ensure information is entered in a timely and accurate fashion. Providing training and coaching to strengthen documentation-related skills as-needed;
- Conduct regular team meetings, supervise one-on-one sessions, and maintain open communication lines within the team and the broader community;
- Engage proactively with the community, strengthening ties with residents, businesses, and organization;
- Coordinate support sessions aimed at developing conflict resolution skills and positive behavior; and
- Ensure appropriate referrals for comprehensive support services.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly oversee outreach staff; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and engaging employees; addressing employee relations and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in public health, human services, criminal justice, sociology or related field;
- Two or more years preferred of full-time management experience, in the field of outreach, substance use, mental health and/or criminal justice with clientele similar to that served by the program(s);
- A minimum of two years relevant work experience, preferably in a nonprofit social service setting;
- Some supervisory experience required;
- Skilled communicator who is able to liaise interdepartmentally as well as with community partners and stakeholders;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel;
- Valid Driver’s License required;
- Ability to work independently and on a team;
- Experience working with the community in the South Bronx, a plus;
- Experience and/or desire to work with a culturally diverse population;

Travel Requirements: Travel throughout the Bronx is required.
