History

Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20 and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitors testing performance among personnel to ensure compliance and quality testing. Interprets test results. Performs instrument and equipment maintenance. Assists the Laboratory Manager with accreditation and laboratory administration responsibilities. Assists in supervising daily operations to ensure employees have the appropriate training, equipment, and resources to perform their daily duties and meet departmental goals and deadlines. CLS staff are required to perform from waived to high complexity testing.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited university in Clinical Laboratory Science or related science

Licenses/Certificates: Must be registered and have a Board of Certification (BOC), or eligible, in the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ACSP) or   American Medical Technologist (AMT).  

Experience: One (1) year experience as a section supervisor or (5)  years experience as a generalist technologist.
