Upstate Veterinary Specialties (UVS) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist (MT/MLS) to join our newly established in-house veterinary clinical laboratory. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of laboratory tests on small animal specimens, including but not limited to chemistry, endocrinology, hematology, urinalysis, and microbiology, in support of our specialized veterinary care.
Education and Experience Requirements: Candidates must possess an associate or bachelor’s degree and have completed a NAACLS-accredited Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program. An active ASCP certification as an MT, MLS, or MLT is required. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of two years of clinical laboratory experience, while those with an associate degree must have at least four years of clinical laboratory experience.

Our Facility
Our custom-built, 40,000+ square foot hospital is currently undergoing a 4,500 square foot expansion to accommodate:
· A full-service in-house reference laboratory with chemistry, hematology, endocrinology, coagulation, urinalysis, and basic microbiology.
· Weekday and limited weekend coverage, with potential for expansion as service demand grows.
· Continued availability of point-of-care analyzers to support our 24/7 emergency and critical care team.
