🎯 Why This Role Matters
As the Health Information Management Manager, you’ll lead a team of HIM professionals dedicated to ensuring integrity, accessibility, and compliance of patient health records. You’ll play a critical role in supporting patient care by driving accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to regulations across the HIM function.
What You’ll Do:
- Location: Onsite at Presbyterian Medical Center, occasional travel within the region.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm.
- Health Information Management is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring information management standards and systems to support the patient record.
- The HIM Manager has the primary responsibility to manage, direct and coordinate the activities related to all on-site HIM workflows within acute care HIM Departments.
- This includes the oversight of all processes and staff related to pulling/retrieving/sorting clinical records/documents, document assessment, prepping, scanning/indexing, quality analysis of paper medical record documents into any record scanning application/electronic medical record system, and on-site release of information tasks/workflows for walk-in medical record requests.
- The manager will ensure all workflows are customer focused, and the workflows/departments operate within CMS, TJC regulations/standards.
- Assists/participate in any regulatory survey response as appropriate.
- Will also foster working relationships with other departments to ensure timely resolution related to any issues within these workflows.
What You’ll Need
Required:
- RHIA or RHIT licensure is required.
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree.
- 6+ years of Health Information Management experience in hospital or healthcare setting OR 3+years of experience in a leadership capacity/role is required.
- Experience fostering strong relationships with members of a medical staff.
- Should have a strong working knowledge of HIPAA requirements, Joint Commission, CMS, and other related regulations that pertain to medical record/hospital records.
- Must be comfortable in a computer-based workflow environment.
- Must have the ability to multitask and work independently with limited supervision. Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities.
Preferred:
- Experience with the EPIC EHR and/or Hyland OnBase scanning application.
