System Lead – Workday HCM
We’re seeking an experienced Workday System Lead (HCM) to take ownership of our Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) platform and elevate it strategically. This role blends technical expertise, HR process knowledge, and product ownership mindset to deliver a high-impact, user-centered system solution.
What You’ll Do
Drive Strategic Roadmapping & Optimization
- Build and manage a 12–18 month roadmap for Workday HCM modules and adopt new releases intentionally
- Continuously identify automation and efficiency opportunities within Workday and adjacent systems
System Development & Delivery
- Design, configure, test, and implement Workday HCM solutions. Maintain configurations, integrations, and reporting while troubleshooting system issues.
- Lead upgrades, enhancements, and new implementations with precision and cross-functional collaboration.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
- Partner with Finance, HR, IT and other business stakeholders to translate business needs into prioritized action items.
- Define governance frameworks and ensure data governance
- Communicate effectively on delivery time frames and serve as a trusted partner for all things Workday HCM.
Guide Technical & Analytical Excellence
- Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics using Workday reporting tools. Monitor integrations and uphold data integrity. Recommend new features based on biannual Workday updates
Ensure Compliance & Security
- Build controls and documentation to enforce compliance. Monitor security protocols and conduct system audits to maintain integrity
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Expertise
- 4+ years managing or developing Workday HCM systems, with solid exposure to product ownership, roadmap development, and stakeholder management
- Strong HR process knowledge, particularly focused on job requisition to hire and benefits enrollment.
- Workday Pro or Product Owner–related certification is a valuable plus
Tools & Technical Skills
- Configuration/troubleshooting expertise in HCM, Security, Benefits and Recruiting. Experience in absence management, time tracking, advanced compensation, and/or talent management is a plus
- Hands-on knowledge of Workday integration and reporting toolsets (Report Writer, Calculated Fields, etc.) and strong analytics experience.
Communication & Leadership
- Effective communicator and stakeholder influencer, capable of translating technical insight to non-technical partners and aligning cross-functional team
