POSITION SUMMARY
The NIGHT SHIFT Yard Attendant is responsible is responsible for moving trailers within the yard, ensuring efficient logistics operations, and maintaining equipment.
Compensation: $D.O.E. per hour + Benefits, Target Annual Bonus and Paid Time Off
Typical Schedule: Night Shift 5 p.m. - 5 a.m.; weekends required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for operating trailers to and from loading docks, ensuring efficient flow within the yard.
- Responsible for positioning trailers for loading and unloading, helping to eliminate congestion.
- Regularly inspect trailers and equipment for safety and functionality. This includes performing preventive maintenance and reporting any mechanical issues to management.
- Operate cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment.
- Monitor storage equipment temperature.
- When necessary, assist the Forklift Drivers/Material Handlers.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license (CDL) and clean driving record.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and report discrepancies management.
- Ability to communicate with management and coworkers to meet departmental goals.
- Ability to understand written and oral instructions.
- Ability to understand the basic knowledge of handling trailers, trucks, forklifts, and other equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Physical demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to sit for most of the shift; walk; sit; use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work environment: Non-A/C work area, the noise level is usually moderate.
