As the Planning Manager, you will: manage Planning staff who primarily perform plan review, process new development applications, and agenda management. The Planning Manager performs technical review of and administers regulations of new development, assists the Assistant Director of Development Services in Planning & Zoning Commission and City Council meetings, drafts ordinances, advises and professionally relates to the development community and the public, prepares reports, performs research, oversees special projects, supervises a team of planners at various levels, helps leads the implementation of many new programs and policies, and originates future plans.

What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, geography, or closely related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional planning and development experience.
- Any equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the knowledge or abilities to perform assigned work will also be evaluated.
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification is required within a year of starting the position.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background investigation and MVR check.
- Must possess valid class C driver’s license.
