About the Team and the Role
BLB&G is looking for an Investigative Analyst to join the firm’s Corporate Governance department’s New Matters team.  In this role, you will work closely with the Firm’s Corporate Governance attorneys to investigate and evaluate executive and director misconduct. New case assessment and development is of critical importance for an investor rights contingency law firm.  The Investigative Analyst role will place you at the center of this exciting and challenging function.


About the Team and the RoleBLB&G is looking for an Investigative Analyst to join the firm’s Corporate Governance department’s New Matters team.  In this role, you will work closely with the Firm’s Corporate Governance attorneys to investigate and evaluate executive and director misconduct. New case assessment and development is of critical importance for an investor rights contingency law firm.  The Investigative Analyst role will place you at the center of this exciting and challenging function.

In This Role You Will:
  • Use available data sources to gather and analyze a wide range of public information and internal corporate records pertinent to the case assessment process, including but not limited to: profiling Board Members and Senior Executives using social media and other sources; monitoring reports from a wide range of proprietary market intelligence providers; reviewing SEC filings, public filings, analyst reports, news articles and other media; and identifying personal and professional affiliations and connections among corporate directors and officers, as well as controlling stockholders.
  • Actively participate in strategy sessions to assess the factual and legal criteria applicable to potential new matters.
  • Provide a wide range of non-legal support and administrative tasks for the case startup and organization process.
  • Organize and maintain records of New Matters team case assessments.


  • Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably reflecting ability with a focus on investigative journalism, accounting, finance and/or economics. (This is not an attorney position, and a law degree is not required)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience related to investigative work, research, and/or analysis is required
  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of basic financial metrics and principles is required
  • The desire to investigate corporate misconduct and to hold wrongdoers accountable
  • An “ownership” mentality with a curious and creative mindset, and a readiness to assume widely varying projects
  • A keen investigative acumen, including the ability to make connections between various sources of information
  • Intermediate financial literacy is preferred
  • Strong time management, organizational, multitasking and communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with document management systems is required; knowledge of I-Manage is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word formatting is helpful


  • Additional Details:
  • This is a full-time, exempt position based in New York, NY
  • This is a hybrid role (4 days in-office (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays required); 1 day work-from-home)
  • Base Compensation Range: $115,000 to $135,000
