Skillforce is currently hiring an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer for mission critical projects in Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA. This is a full-time, direct hire position with one of the largest general contractors in the US. Will need to be open to relocation and travel.
Position Details:
Location: Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Long term, direct placement
Pay: Up to $130k
Responsibilities:
Perform and oversee mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
Develop and review M/E budget estimates based on design and program data.
Analyze systems, recommend cost-effective solutions, and provide value engineering input.
Coordinate M/E scopes of work during preconstruction and the bid process.
Review design documents for quality and constructability; assist in developing quality control procedures.
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Oversee commissioning activities, including checklists, functional testing, and documentation.
Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.
Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers and promote best practices in M/E coordination.
Support a safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering (required).
5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience (preferred).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of construction means and methods.
Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and teams.
