POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Staff Dentist
DEPARTMENT: Dental Health Services
LOCATION: 1575 Blue Hill Avenue, Boston, MA
REPORTS TO: Dental Director
TYPE: Full or Part Time: Experienced
SALARY: $130,000

SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Dental Director, provides dental care to patients by diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries and malformations of teeth and gums. The incumbent will perform high quality dental services and maintain efficiency.
Responsibilities
- 90% General and Specialized Dentistry Services.
- Examines patient’s teeth and surrounding oral cavity using various dental instruments and digital x-rays to determine need for dental treatment.
- Records results of examination in patient’s electronic chart.
- Formulates treatment plan and document all medications, treatment, diagnosis and consultation.
- Performs preventive dental health services for adults and children.
- Performs various restorative and therapeutic procedures such as endodontic and periodontal therapies, minor surgical procedures, pulpotomies, crowns and bridges.
- Performs other appropriate dental treatments and procedures to restore dental health and function.
- Educate patients to maintain proper oral health.

- Educate patients to maintain proper oral health. Clinical Administrative Duties
- Maintain patient records, attend and participate in various staff and committee meetings.
- Work with Clinical Operations Team to ensure efficient patient flow, patient satisfaction, internal and external patient referrals.
- Performs other related professional, administrative duties as required or assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
This position reports directly to the Dental Director.
Requirements
Position requires successful completion of certified academic program in dentistry and current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Position requires a minimum of one (1) year of general dental experience.
One (1) year of activities and credit hours must be obtained in accordance with the requirements of the Board of Registration of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
One (1) year of activities must include at least one annual course in Dental Office Management.
