About the Role:
As a Concrete Carpenter based in Sterling, VA, you will play a critical role in the construction process by building and installing the wooden frameworks and forms that shape concrete structures. Your expertise will ensure that concrete is poured accurately and securely, resulting in durable foundations, walls, and other structural elements. You will collaborate closely with project managers, laborers, and other tradespeople to meet project specifications and deadlines. Attention to detail and precision in measuring, cutting, and assembling formwork will directly impact the quality and safety of the finished construction. Ultimately, your craftsmanship will contribute to the successful completion of a wide range of construction projects, from residential buildings to commercial infrastructure.
Pay: $30-$35/HR DOE
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have an OSHA 10 Certification
- Proven experience as a concrete carpenter or in a similar carpentry role within construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials related to concrete formwork.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in concrete formwork or carpentry from a recognized trade school or apprenticeship program.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and construction site safety practices.
- Experience working on commercial and residential construction projects.
- Basic knowledge of concrete finishing techniques.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Responsibilities:
- Construct, install, and dismantle wooden and metal forms used to shape poured concrete.
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials according to blueprints and project specifications.
- Ensure all formwork is level, square, and properly braced to withstand concrete pressure.
- Collaborate with concrete finishers and other construction team members to coordinate workflow.
- Inspect completed forms for accuracy and safety compliance before concrete pouring.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and adhere to safety protocols.
- Assist in site preparation and cleanup to maintain an organized and safe work environment.
