Summary/Objective

The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of inventory data across systems and physical locations. This role ensures proper inventory levels, investigates discrepancies, and supports efficient operations by analyzing inventory trends, processes, and controls. The analyst collaborates frequently with purchasing, production, and finance teams to optimize inventory performance.


Essential Functions

  1. Monitor and analyze inventory levels, transactions, and movements to ensure alignment between physical counts and system records, while ensuring compliance with scrapping and write-off procedures.
  2. Develop plans to lead regular cycle counts by investigating and reconciling discrepancies (including resolving negative inventory issues), communicating findings through weekly and monthly reports to management, and by providing training to cycle counters.
  3. Conduct audits of inventory records and reconcile counts; investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
  4. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve inventory control procedures and best practices.
  5. Identify root causes of inventory variances and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  6. Perform an annual ABC analysis to evaluate and update cycle count frequencies for each item.
  7. Review and adjust safety stock levels annually based on ABC classification to ensure optimal inventory coverage.
  8. Monitor and manage inventory items discussed in SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) meetings to support business objectives.
  9. Develop and maintain process with team and regular meetings to identify and reduce obsolete or excess inventory. 
  10. Take a lead role in planning, executing, and following up on the annual physical inventory process.
  11. Provide support and serve as back-up to the Inventory Control Clerk as needed.
  12. Any other duties as assigned. 


Work Environment and Physical Demands

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing/office environment. Must be able to operate a computer/keyboard, ability to use phone, and sit for extended periods of time. Communicate using speech, hearing, written, and vision skills. May also work occasionally on the production floor requiring the use of safety equipment to include, but not limited to- safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed work boots or shoes. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds and seldom lifting to 75lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping. 


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. The standard working hours for exempt employees are set at 45 hours per week with an additional 30-minute lunch break each day. General business hours are 6:30 am- 5:00 pm. this position follows a specific work schedule of Monday through Friday 6:30 am- 4:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet business demands.


Compensation

Our current hiring pay range for this position is $62,500- $80,000. This hiring pay range is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills and certifications.

In addition to this base pay, Rockford Ball Screw employees are eligible for a bonus. Depending on your position you may be categorized into different tiers in the quarterly or annual bonus plan. Currently, this position is classified as a Quarterly Bonus within the Specialist tier.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  1. Associate degree or 3 years of equivalent experience
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  3. Ability to read/write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  4. 1+ years of experience in an inventory role with knowledge of inventory best practices, cycle counting, and root cause analysis.


Preferred Education and Experience

  1. 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting
