Description
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform and complete each essential duty satisfactorily, have sufficient communication and language skills to enable them to perform their duties and interact effectively with residents, family members and guests. An on-going training program is required. A high school diploma and/or GED is required. The employee enjoys working with the senior population and can successfully create a clean-living environment that promotes wellness. The Housekeeper models the values and core purpose of The Blake.
Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities:
a. Works shift as assigned. Reports to work on-time.
b. Reports to work in appropriate attire/uniform and wears name identification badge.
c. Completes assignments within the required time frame. Utilizes time management skills effectively.
d. Cleans resident apartments. Tasks may include, but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning kitchenette area washing dishes, cleaning mirrors, making bed, emptying trash, organizing, changing of linens, laundry, sanitizing bathroom.
e. Cleans offices as directed.
f. Cleans and sanitizes common area restrooms.
g. Cleans common areas (includes vacuuming, dusting, mopping, emptying trash)
h. Performs laundry tasks.
i. Reports maintenance issues to the Director of Management.
j. Reports pest control issues to the Director of Management.
k. Reports resident needs and changes of condition to the nurse and/or Administrator.
l. Responds to residents in a courteous and professional manner.
m. Stores equipment and supplies according to company policy.
n. Utilizes cleaning supplies and chemicals safely, responsibly and according to directions.
o. Attends all training and staff meetings as directed.
p. Maintains a working knowledge and demonstrates acceptable performance skills in:
1. Resident rights and responsibilities.
2. Respect for residents’ belongings.
3. Respect for residents’ privacy.
4. Respect for residents’ religious beliefs.
5. Respect for interpersonal relationships with family and other staff members.
q. Adheres and supports the policies and procedures of The Blake.
