What does this role look like?
We are the voice steering today’s design decisions to drive tomorrow’s production success.
This Manufacturing Engineering position will support electrical Design for Manufacturing and requires in-depth knowledge of circuit cards, electronics and electronic assembly. Firm understanding of engineering drawings, parts lists, CAD coupled with innovative thinking is a must. This position will integrate with electrical design teams at the beginning of product lifecycle, supporting the entire process from initial concepts to Engineering drawing.
In this role will offer you the following daily key responsibilities:
• Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team while staying true to production goals and how they influence design decisions.
• Provide cost trades during design cycles to describe and defend producibility choices.
• Knowledge base should include production level support manufacturing details, assembly, and test.
Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing role, specifically Circuit Card Assemblies, Electronics Assemblies, Radio Frequency Electronics, and/or micro electronics.
• Demonstrated experience with product manufacturability, producibility, and design for cost.
• Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and experience with precision machining/tolerances, and assembly sequences.
• Demonstrated experience with LEAN/Six Sigma skills and ability to identify process issues/opportunities and implement cost-saving solutions (Affordability).
• Familiarity SAP (or other ERP package), and P2P applications.
Desired skills
• Experience in program development with emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and leadership.
• Demonstrated skills in team building and leading through influence in a professional setting.
• Understanding and wide application of assembly and test methods for electronics and electro-optical assemblies.
• Experience in the design of manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, machining and material handling
Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) knowledge/experience.
• Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with automation and robotics.
• Proficiency in CAD design tools, such as Creo or SolidWorks.
• Experience using Design Profit or Siemens Valor NPI.
