Manage all U.S. non-immigrant and immigrant visa processing as well as select US-outbound non-immigrant visa filings in non-U.S. countries. Oversee the outside immigration counsel's services. Stay current with laws, regulations, technology, and procedures governing U.S. immigration. Consult HR Business Partners/Talent Acquisition, employees and managers on U.S. visa strategy, immigration options and timelines, and travel requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
In partnership with outside immigration counsel, responsible for managing U.S. non-immigrant visa filings including, but not limited to, H-1B, L-1B/A, and TN visas and select U.S.-outbound non-immigrant visa filings in non-U.S. countries.
In partnership with outside immigration counsel, responsible for the oversight and management of all US permanent residency cases including but not limited to PERM, I-140 filing, I-485/AOS.
Review immigration applications received from outside immigration counsel, ensure accuracy and timely delivery, and sign on company's behalf.
Facilitate the timely response to all immigration audits, Requests for Evidence, etc., acting as the intermediary between the business and external counsel.
Serve as a point of contact for employees and hiring managers to discuss and consult on available immigration options, processes, guidelines, and education on new or changing policies. Responsible to ensure that all U.S. immigration postings are compliant as per USCIS guidelines.
Communicate immigration requirements, government procedures, policy/process documentation, and case processing times to HR Business Partners/Talent Acquisition, employees and managers
Assist with prioritizing and managing immigration timelines, including renewals and expiration dates, as well as the H-1B Cap lottery.
Assist with designing and developing immigration resources for managers, HR Business Partners/Talent Acquisition, and associates including FAQs, internal policies, and process documents.
Audit and process immigration invoices received from outside immigration counsel. Ensure high level of service being provided by outside immigration counsel.
Responsible for other U.S. ad hoc immigration issues, as necessary, e.g., J-1 programs, work from home requests, Form I-9 inquiries.
Participate in the documentation and simplification of all HR processes project
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
8-10+ years of U.S. employment-based immigration experience
In-depth knowledge of H-1B and L-1 visas as well as the permanent residency processes (required)
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail -- ability to review data, detect and correct errors, take responsibility for data quality
Client service focus, responsiveness, and a "can-do" open-minded attitude
