M2Summary
This position is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the hatchery, including planning special projects to maintain an excellent hatching environment, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and administering personnel policies fairly and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Weekly Projections & Sourcing: Make weekly projections and seek outside sources when necessary.
- Quality Control: Work with Quality Control to ensure proper procedures are followed and proper cleaning has been done.
- Mechanical Performance: Calculate hatchery mechanical performance and ensure preventative maintenance is in place.
- Training & Supervision: Assist supervisors in training and daily interactions with Team Members.
- Collaboration: Work with Hen Growers and Breeder Technicians to ensure the production of high-quality eggs and with Broiler Growers and Technicians to maintain the ideal environment for chicks.
- Egg Maintenance: Fumigate and maintain eggs while in the incubator.
- Logistics: Arrange for chicks to be delivered to the farm.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as the need arises.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Experience: 1 plus years of experience preferred.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. For example, checking electronic mail, entering data into document templates, or creating simple queries.
- Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.
- Supervisory Skills: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and/or interrelated tasks and activities.
