Position Summary:
The Regional Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing the clinical performance and regulatory compliance of multiple long-term care facilities within a designated region. This role ensures high-quality resident care, supports clinical leadership at the facility level, and drives operational excellence through strategic planning, staff development, and adherence to company policies and healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Monitor and evaluate clinical operations across assigned facilities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Implement and maintain quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident outcomes and satisfaction.
- Conduct regular audits and site visits to assess clinical performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Leadership & Staff Development
- Mentor and support Directors of Nursing and other clinical leaders in each facility.
- Facilitate training programs and continuing education to promote clinical competency and leadership growth.
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and retention of clinical staff.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all facilities maintain readiness for state surveys and accreditation inspections.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address deficiencies and implement corrective action plans.
- Monitor incident reports and adverse events, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
- Strategic Planning & Collaboration
- Partner with regional and corporate leadership to align clinical goals with organizational strategy.
- Analyze clinical data and trends to inform decision-making and resource allocation.
- Serve as a liaison between facility teams and corporate departments (HR, finance, operations).
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required; BSN or MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive clinical leadership experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings.
- Proven track record of managing multiple facilities or regions.
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, MDS, infection control, and QAPI programs.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Gerontology or Nursing Administration.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical analytics platforms.
- Crisis management and conflict resolution expertise.
- Familiarity with workforce development and retention strategies.
