Job Description
As the Fraud Risk Associate Manager, you will be a leader in the strategic vision and implementation of fraud decisioning and risk mitigation across the entire BestBuy.com ecosystem, with emphasis on transactional fraud detection. You will leverage logical and analytical skills to make recommendations, decisions, and implementations in the context of risk-governing rulesets and systems. Your technical acumen will balance empowerment of growth in enterprise and customer capabilities with protections against vectors of fraud attack in an ever-changing ecosystem. This office/home hybrid position will both challenge and reward the candidate with a strong balance of precision logical mind and broad systems-strategic ability.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. Our team works in-office Tuesday–Thursday, with remote flexibility Monday and Friday.
What you’ll do
- Liaise with engineering teams and vendors to facilitate system connections and data integrations from design to testing, production enablement, and ongoing improvement.
- Manage fraud decisioning strategy for high-risk product portfolios, Marketplace product portfolio, and vendor integrations, innovating and optimizing in an environment of rapidly-changing fraud attack vectors.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with order management, identity, payments, cybersecurity, and other teams to provide risks, requirements, and strategic guidance on enterprise initiatives.
- Train and mentor new/junior team members, and be a subject matter expert in key aspects of fraud decisioning technologies, capabilities, and processes.
- Design and implement data-driven solutions to enhance decisioning accuracy and automation efficiencies in complex logical systems within the fraud technology stack.
- Assist in team project and issue tracking, triage efforts, and technical documentation.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 5+ years experience in fraud prevention, payments, cybersecurity, or related field
- Advanced Excel skills, proficiency in SQL
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science/programming, statistics, or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with web technology, technical systems, and data visualization tools such as Google Cloud Platform/BigQuery, XML, APIs, and Power BI
