Position Title:  LEAD STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Location:  HOUSTON, TX
FLSA Class:  EXEMPT
Responsible to:  ENGINEERING LEAD – DEVELOPMENT & CONSTRUCTION

Position Summary: The Lead Structural Engineer will oversee the design, analysis, and implementation of structural systems for a variety of projects. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and innovative solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Lead structural design efforts for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects
  •  Perform detailed structural analysis using advanced software tools (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro)
  •  Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and calculations
  •  Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and project managers to ensure design integration
  •  Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance during construction phases
  •  Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
  •  Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence
  •  Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  •  Prepare and present reports to stakeholders and clients
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE license preferred

Other Requrements:

  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software 
  • Strong knowledge of materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry) and construction methods
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with BIM tools (e.g., Revit, Tekla)
  • Familiarity with sustainability and green building practices
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong client-facing and presentation abilities
