Position Summary: The Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Consultant professionally represents the company to grow the customer base within an assigned territory. The AAC consultant is responsible for supporting people who use or could benefit from the company’s solutions, their family, caregivers, and team (e.g., speech-language pathologists, educators, professionals). Support is achieved through a combination of virtual and in-person interactions across a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, clinics, universities, homes, and conferences. The AAC Consultant upholds the company’s values, mission, method and manner, and strives to enhance customer and company success. This position has a flexible schedule that works to meet the needs of the clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Builds and maintains relationships with new and existing customers to promote products, support needs, and uncover opportunities.
- Drives sales pipeline through daily outreach activities and consultative, solution-based selling.
- Supports teams through the AAC device acquisition process—from evaluation and trial to funding and training.
- Delivers product education and demonstrations via group meetings and presentations.
- Manages territory operations including equipment, expenses, visibility, and participation in conferences.
- Stays current on company offerings, AAC trends, and best practices.
- Participates in internal meetings and adheres to company policies.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Builds strong relationships and identifies AAC needs through effective communication and collaboration.
- Demonstrates initiative and adaptability in learning new products, services, and strategies.
- Excels in time management, organization, and goal setting.
- Communicates clearly and professionally across various formats and group sizes.
- Works independently and remotely while contributing to team goals.
- Applies analytical thinking, problem-solving, and maintains confidentiality and integrity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software tools.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Education, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, or related field is required.
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, or related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years working in the field of AAC or Assistive Technology is required. Experience with the company’s AAC solutions is preferred. 
- Knowledge of AAC principles and solutions is required. 
- Experience participating in AAC evaluations is preferred.
