What You’ll Do
The Compliance Associate will assist in ensuring regulatory policies and procedures are being followed consistently across the company.
- Able to research classification, ADCVD, PGA, 19CFR issues as assigned
- Able to trouble shoot entry questions, failures, rejects through research and communication with CBP ABI Rep.
- Able to write and submit Post Summary Corrections through ABI system or Protests through ACE Portal
- Able to discuss, complete and submit surety bonds, approving and submitting billing
- Able to prepare shipper’s insurance and approve and submit billing
- Able to develop and implement reporting functions in operating system to manage statement, entry related data
- Other duties assigned
Receives guidance for overall objectives; work with operations and within company and department policies and guidelines using independent judgment to achieve assigned objectives.
What You’ll Bring
- LCB or Certified Customs Specialist Preferred
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 year of customer service experience preferred
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.
- Basic geography knowledge preferred. Applicants should understand the locations of US States and Canadian Provinces – including major cities thereof.
- Detailed organizational skills.
- Solid communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Must be able to think and react quickly with a sense of urgency to time-sensitive problem situations.
- Must be able to remain calm during adverse conditions.
- Must be able to type a minimum of 30 w.p.m.
