Position Overview:
This full-time role is centered on advising and supporting university honors students and scholars, with a specific focus on spearheading the Legacy Scholars initiative. This multifaceted position requires a blend of advising expertise, program development skills, and collaborative outreach to support student success, while contributing to the development and sustainability of Honors & Scholars initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage the Legacy Scholars initiative, providing direct mentorship and support to scholars as they meet individual program milestones.
- Advise and support university honors students, guiding them through meaningful goal development and successful program completion.
- Coordinate essential advising sessions, including summer orientation meetings, first-year advising, and second-year program planning sessions.
- Contribute to the recruitment and retention of high-ability students, representing Honors & Scholars at on-campus visits and key recruitment events.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and sustainability of strategic Honors & Scholars initiatives (e.g., engaged learning, community engagement, undergraduate research, scholarship awarding, and assessment).
- Communicate and promote initiatives effectively to the campus and wider community through reports, presentations, social media, brochures, and website content.
Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in student affairs or related field and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with high-ability students or honors programs preferred.
