SUMMARY
The Regional Payroll Specialist is assigned to a regional, and responsible for ensuring all field employees in that given region are paid accurately and timely. Responsible for maintaining employment records of field personnel. Supports and processes payrolls for employees in multiple states. Provides training on payroll procedures and support project teams as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate with field admins and other personnel in assigned region to make sure payroll needs are being met.
Address and resolve any payroll discrepancies or errors.
Run and maintain E-Verify status
Make sure employee records and documents remain updated and secure.
Respond to requests for employment verification and unemployment
Reprint W-2s and pay stubs as requested.
As needed, provide backup to other payroll teams
Train and mentor individuals in the assigned region on payroll procedures and identify areas of improvement.
Travel on occasion to project sites or other regional offices to training and support payroll needs.
Stay updated on changes to payroll laws and best practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree in accounting, finance or business-related field
2 to 4 years of payroll or related experience in the construction industry preferred
Financial, payroll, or tax related training a plus, either formal classes or seminars
Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience
COMPETENCIES:
10-key, light typing
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
Work well under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Oral and written communication skills as required for the position
Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
TRAVEL:
up to 20%
WORKING CONDITIONS:
General work environment–sitting for extended periods standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
Noise level is typically low to medium
Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
