  • Must be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot and performs necessary repairs on packaging equipment individually or under supervision of Engineering.
  • Performs PMs on all packaging equipment.
  • Performs set-ups/changeovers for packaging equipment.
  • Regularly monitors machinery to ensure that it operates efficiently and reliably with minimal downtime.
  • Monitors all equipment so it operates under a continuous state of qualification as defined by cGMPs.
  • Documents all work performed in log books/SAP.
  • Ensure inventory of all necessary change parts/spare parts.
  • Communicate all necessary change parts/spare parts for packaging to Maintenance Planner.
  • Troubleshoot all vision systems/serialization equipment/barcode readers/PLCs as required.
  • Work with Engineering to install, troubleshoot, and improve packaging equipment.
  • Work with teams or individually to give ideas to improve equipment efficiency, thru put, etc.
  • Must be flexible to work with packaging technicians on the line.
  • When required, help stage/prepare readiness for each preceding scheduled packaging batch run and move material within finished goods warehouse area in to associated racking locations.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and follow machine operation manuals and schematics.
  • Must be able to utilize a computer.
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians on other shop maintenance duties as necessary.
  • Need to be flexible working hrs.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED or technical school diploma required; Associates Degree in Electromechanical Technology or equivalent certification is preferred.

  • Packaging Line experience is preferred. (cGMP experience a plus)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical environment is required.
  • Strong technical background and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and pneumatics is required.
  • Knowledge of serialization.
  • General technical expertise with electromechanical systems, Servo and PLC driven machinery; and thorough knowledge of various packaging machines, including cartooning, labeling, and liquid filling is required.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of electricity, basic electronics, hardware and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to comprehend electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings of packaging equipment and systems.
  • The incumbent must be able to gown and work in protective gear as required by the SOP.
  • Must be familiar with GMPs.
  • Ability to operate a fork truck is preferred.
  • The physical requirements for this job are:  excellent vision; ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; ability to use hand tools safely; ability to bend, reach, stretch, and work in tight spaces.
