Position Summary:
The Store Manager oversees all operations of an integrated retail complex that includes Ace Hardware, a convenience store, and fuel sales. This role ensures profitability, operational excellence, and a superior customer experience while upholding Agfinity’s cooperative values and Ace Hardware’s “Helpful Hardware Folks” standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Operational Management
- Oversee full Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability across hardware, convenience, and fuel operations.
- Analyze financial reports, manage budgets, and control costs to ensure profitability.
- Forecast and adjust fuel pricing and sales strategies to maintain competitiveness.
Sales & Merchandising
- Drive sales growth and customer traffic through strategic promotions and merchandising.
- Partner with vendors to optimize product mix, pricing, and seasonal resets.
- Expand community and commercial partnerships to increase market share.
Customer Service
- Lead a culture of exceptional service across all departments.
- Train and coach staff to meet the “WOW Every Customer Every Time” standard.
- Monitor feedback and implement improvements based on customer insights.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and develop employees across all departments.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recognition programs.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
Inventory & Safety
- Manage inventory accuracy and fuel operations compliance.
- Enforce OSHA, EPA, and state safety standards.
- Maintain facilities and equipment in excellent condition.
Community Engagement
- Represent the store at local events and partnerships.
- Promote Agfinity’s cooperative mission and the Ace Hardware brand.
Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Retail Management preferred.
Experience
- 7–10 years in multi-department retail operations.
- 5–7 years in leadership roles with sales over $3M annually.
- Prior Ace Hardware experience preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and P&L management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficient with POS and inventory management systems.
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Moderate physical activity, including walking and standing for long periods.
- Regular presence on the sales floor.
