Computer Technician II presso Mendocino County Office Of Education

The Mendocino County Office of Education is a public agency whose primary purpose is to provide educational leadership, resources and services to schools to ensure wide-ranging educational opportunities for all students. This mission is accomplished through cooperative efforts with teachers, school districts, families, and communities; through direct instructional programs and administrative services; and through coordination with the California Department of Education and other agencies.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Technology, provide technical support to users and maintenance to various systems’ hardware and software applications; provide consultation and direction regarding instructional or business system applications; test and evaluate software. The Computer Technician II class serves in lead capacity, oversees and participates in complex installations and support activities, including curriculum design and implementation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Four (4) years of college-level coursework in education and computer science, or related field; • Four (4) years of teaching experience/training in the use and installation of personal computer hardware and software; • Possess or obtain upon employment, a valid California Driver License; • Provide proof of automobile insurability; • Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of fifty (50) pounds with assistance. BENEFITS Employees are provided with an insurance plan, which includes health, vision, and dental insurance for employee, spouse, and dependents, at a shared cost. Participation in this plan is mandatory for employees working 35 plus hours a week. Employee will be a member of the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) to which both the employee and MCOE contribute. Employee may elect to be a member of the Mendocino County Federation of School Employees Union. MCOE does not participate in the Social Security system.

$32.41 – $54.04 an hour as per Range 39 of the Classified Salary Schedule.
