Job Title:                        SCE Academic Tutor

Primary Purpose:

Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher, work with individual students or small groups. Work under supervision of certified teacher or administrator. This position is paid for through State Compensatory Education (SCE) funds.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (defined as completion of 48 semester hours or equivalent trimester hours) of college coursework (preferred)
• Valid Texas teaching certificate (preferred)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to work well with students
• Ability to communicate effectively

Experience:

Some experience working with students

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher, work with individual students or small groups.
• Collect and maintain data regarding student work and progress
• Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilitities expected for this position.

Personal or laptop computer, printer, copier, fax machine, calculator, telephone, electronic mobile devices, and other instructional technology
