A Portfolio Manager is primarily responsible for making and servicing a wide variety of commercial and consumer loans, both secured and unsecured. A Portfolio Manager ensures the highest level of client relations and service as well as fosters the Bank’s service culture and Core Values, Mission, and Vision as leading by example.


What You'll Do: 

  • Monitors and manages existing credit relationships which includes note renewals, review and analysis of current financial statements and collateral valuations, credit analysis; compiles reports necessary to monitor asset quality and compliance with policy/regulation. Primary duty is to place all loan requests and renewals in the most efficient and productive distribution channel available in the Bank.
  • Analyzes and evaluates credit requests and writes loan commitments; recommends appropriate credit grade; and assists in implementing approval or declination action.
  • Ensures researching and curing collateral exceptions are performed and in compliance with lending policies and guidelines; contacts customers about past due accounts.
  • Researches overdrafts and outgoing wire transfers and determines appropriate action; assists in implementing approval or denial action.
  • Maintains portfolio of and contact with depository customers and monitors problem resolution with operations and perfection exceptions.
  • Monitors daily commercial and consumer operations at the Stillwater branch to ensure processes and execution of daily tasks.
  • Oversees processing of banking activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and accountability are followed.
  • Reviews documents for pre- and post-closing and assists with document approvals.
  • Prepares, reviews, and monitors reports to ensure Bank guidelines for compliance and credit monitoring are being met.
  • Analyzes credit requests and performs financial statement analysis utilizing spreadsheet and analysis tools.
  • Prepares and monitors reports analyzing loan commitments and outstanding balances by customer, loan type, property type, location, size, etc.
  • Partners with Credit and Bank partners in support of the Market President and Director Tribal Banking to promote client portfolio growth.
  • Establishes, builds, develops, grows, and maintains professional Banking relationships with clients and prospects.
  • Supports the bank’s deposit growth strategies, including but not limited to gathering and organizing documents necessary to open new accounts.
  • Actively participates and professionally represents the Bank in events, meetings, promotions, and outreach initiatives to develop relationships with businesses, clients, and prospects and drive bank business as well as establish a strong presence in the Stillwater and surrounding areas. 
  • Publicly represents the Bank embodying the Bank’s mission, vision, and core values. 
  • Demonstrates a professional business image and demeanor with clients and prospects and in bank branches.
  • Monitors past due information and future maturities, 
  • Demonstrates an understanding of financial spreads, modeling, and monitoring.
  • Performs research to maintain current knowledge of industry trends and changes.
  • Participates in, or independently executes, the sales process when necessary.
  • Attends meetings and represents the Market President and Director Tribal Banking as needed.
  • Acts as a backup to the Market President & Director Tribal Banking as needed.
  • Meets or exceeds assigned performance goals.
  • Provides consistent, distinctive service to all clients when delivering the Bank service experience.
  • Practices safe and sound bank procedures, including adherence to applicable laws and regulations, internal controls, operational procedures, risk management policies, and security protocols.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:  

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 
  • Experience: 4-8 years of commercial and/or consumer banking experience.
  • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, qualifying motor vehicle record report, and reliable transportation.  
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of commercial and consumer lending practices and loan documentation requirements; accounting principles and practices; and credit underwriting, documentation, loan policy, and regulations; financial analysis including ratio and trend analysis and projections; and word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity. 
  • Flexible, adaptable, and willingness to continuously learn.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
