Major/Essential Functions
Curriculum Design & Development
- Design, revise and/or adapt curriculum to align with division-specific goals, learning outcomes, audience needs (PK-12, adult learners, lifelong learners), and TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) standards when appropriate.
- Develop supporting instructional materials (e.g., assessments, guides, multimedia resources).
- Work closely with O&E Program Director and staff from MaTTU, OLL, OLLI, LLL, NRHC and faculty to identify programming needs, co-develop or refine educational resources
- Support or co-facilitate educator workshops, training events, and internal PD sessions related to curriculum use and instructional practices.
- Stay current on best practices in curriculum design, museum and place-based learning, and community-engaged pedagogy.
- Maintain organized records of curricular materials, deliverables, and shared content in designated TEAMS folders or learning management systems.
- Support the preparation of materials for public use, educator workshops, or online distribution.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education or related field.
- Experience working in museums, informal learning environments, or community-engaged settings.
- Familiarity with digital learning tools and content management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Canvas).
- Knowledge of community engagement frameworks and outreach strategies in higher education.
- Knowledge in instructional design & curriculum development

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Instructional Design, Museum Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience developing curriculum or educational programs for PK-12 or adult learners.
- Strong understanding of instructional design principles and TEKS standards.
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and community partners.
- Excellent written, organizational, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
