We are currently looking for a highly motivated Senior Engineer Advanced Technology (M/F/D) to join our Advanced Technology team in Berlin, Germany. Principle duties and essential functions

• Participate in R&D projects for the Optical Engine and Advanced Technology groups

• Lead packaging design for transceivers, sub-assemblies, and laser components

• Simulate and optimize optical, mechanical, and thermal performance

• Create and refine package layouts for electro-optical devices

• Evaluate technology platforms and materials for packaging applications

• Define specifications and assess components in system-level environments

• Collaborate with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and cross-functional teams

• Present development results at internal reviews and external conferences

• Support the transfer of research innovations into scalable product development

Knowledge, skills and experience required

• PhD, Master’s, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics or related field

• Minimum 3 years of experience in packaging and assembly of electro-optical devices

• Hands-on experience with photonic integrated circuits, high-speed electronics and free-space optics

• Strong understanding of SMT processes, substrate technologies and epoxy behavior under environmental stress

• Strategic thinker with a proactive, innovative mindset and a strong team orientation

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
