px Group has operated and maintained the Fellside Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant located in Cumbria, since 2004, and also operates the 0.5 km high-hazard pipeline which is the main fuel supply to the site. The site is an upper tier COMAH installation forming part of the Sellafield COMAH enclave.


The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Mechanical Outage Coordinator.

In this role, you will manage the delivery of all Mechanical Outage Work at Fellside CHP, and ensure it is correctly scoped, specified, planned, executed, and commissioned in a safe and efficient manner to meet contractual targets and in accordance with site safety, environmental and quality procedures.

You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of all Planned and Maintenance outages as agreed with Sellafield and as allocated in the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Aid in the planning of all site outages as agreed with Sellafield and as allocated in the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Attend the weekly Outage work list meeting. Chair in the absence of the Planning Engineer. 
  • Ensure all personnel adhere to the site Outage Management Procedure.
  • Raising and Closing Work Orders as required.
  • Organising all stores required for the conduct of Planned Outage Maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all Outage Plans are produced and communicated to all relevant personnel in a timely manner for all Planned and Maintenance outages.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Minimum Requirements:

  • HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent. 
  • Successful contributions in a 24/7 industrial environment including: 
                o    Timely planning & recording of maintenance activities using MMSs. 
                o    Identifying, proposing & rectifying EC&I issues in all operational states. 
                o    Completing EC&I tasks in line with own competence.
                o    Spare ordering & coordination.
                o    Coordinating manpower & mechanical activities. 
                o    Preparing, communicating & updating documents including procedures, work plans, project                        and contractor scopes.
                o    Managing budgets and projects.
