Purpose

Work as part of the Rates & Credit Sales team in London embedded in the European Markets Sales business

  • Winning in Core Markets” – Contribute to the growth of UK R&C business as part of the Capital Markets Originate to Distribute team, linking with the Capital Powerhouse strategy to increase Fee income, Secondary turnover and relevance to the AOFM and Semi Governments in Australia
  • Simple, Fast and Resilient” - Responsibility for all Operational activities generated by the team e.g. Onboarding Clients, Trade booking, liaising with Back Office. Assistance in accelerating the digitisation of the R&C flow business. Work with the Trading and eTrading teams to ensure seamless platform execution of all relevant products

Essential capabilities

  • Knowledge of financial markets and experience in Fixed Income
  • Ability to work with speed and accuracy under pressure
  • Some Customer facing experience, preferably some experience of Institutional Fixed Income Investors
  • Ability to engage proactively with stakeholders across Markets and the wider C&IB business

Other capabilities

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Digital experience – familiarity with Bloomberg/Tradeweb execution platforms
  • Experience with financial products and services. Preferably in dealing or sales 

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in banking/finance, preferably in Markets or other areas in Corporate & Institutional Banking

Key Stakeholders

  • People Leader and Head of Sales - information regarding overall direction, support, guidance, performance review, planning and training
  • Trading, eTrading and Sales colleagues - inform, discuss strategy for products and customers, and coordination to enable digital delivery of products
  • Customers – support Primary coverage of existing clients, onboarding new clients
  • Bankers, relationship managers and enablement functions within C&IB
  • Other bank colleagues - Legal, Risk, Tax, Product Control, Finance, Operations, G20, Compliance and Technology
  • Working with Rates & Credit Sales, Trading and eTrading teams to build out the European business

Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day Execution capacity and Operational assistance
  • Ensure development is in line with Customer requirements and business strategy – particularly noting the Accelerate C&IB focus of Winning in Core Markets and Simple, Fast and Resilient
  • Demonstrate “Who We Are” behaviours in all internal and external interactions with Stakeholders and Customers
  • Be involved in client onboarding, working with the Sales and Customer Due Diligence team to manage the process within acceptable timeframes
  • Demonstrate ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and drive operational efficiencies, specifically in our digital platform business
  • Work with your People Leader to implement an individual development plan to outline key focus areas and goals to work towards
  • Lead by example upholding the highest levels of conduct and behaviour. Be aware of risk and assurance requirements including non-compliance and be willing to call out positive and negative conduct
