The Opportunity:

As a Fiscal Specialist Supervisor, you’ll play a key leadership role in supporting the financial operations of Supply Management Services, Plant Services, and Mailing Services. You’ll oversee a team of fiscal professionals and guide them through complex tasks such as procurement, payables, specialized stock purchasing, fleet rental and lease transactions, and billing for Mailing Services and Central Receiving and Delivery.

In this role, you’ll be empowered to lead—from interviewing and recommending new team members to training staff, assigning and scheduling work, managing leave requests, and conducting performance evaluations. You’ll also have the authority to recommend disciplinary actions when necessary.

Your deep understanding of operational processes across all supported divisions will be essential as you ensure continuity of service, provide backup coverage, and drive process improvements. You’ll also take the lead in managing reporting functions, helping your team stay organized, efficient, and aligned with departmental goals.

Additional Information:

This is a full (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $4,119 to $5,531 | Range 46 (Steps A-M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience at a level equivalent to Fiscal Specialist I, at least one (1) year must include lead or supervisory experience AND 15 quarter hours or 10 semester hours of college level accounting; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Experience with computer-based business information systems and experience utilizing spreadsheets, databases, etc., to analyze and present financial information.

  • Ability to work harmoniously with others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.

  • Two (2) years supervising or leading the work of others.

  • Microsoft Office Specialist Certification for Excel.
