Academic Compliance & Regulation - Student Disability Services Clerk (FWS) presso Gcu

Purpose within the Organization:

The purpose of the Student Disability Services (SDS) Clerk is to interaction with students seeking information on accommodations that are required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

• Record caller information.

• Enter information into an existing database.

• Direct callers to online guides and explain the steps to seeking accommodation.

• Exercise judgment in discerning which issues require immediate attention from Student Disability Services supervisors.

• Scan and file student records into the correct FileBound folders.

• Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must have excellent customer services and phone skills (including handling escalated or frustrated clients).

• Attention to detail to ensure data is accurately entered into a proprietary database.

• Type at least 30 words per minute.

• Experience operating a computer and scanner.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat Professional a plus.

Equipment Used and Responsibility         

• Knowledge of Optical Character Recognition software in order to convert paper document into machine-encoded text.
• Familiarity and understanding of available assistive technologies in order to assist students.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good interpersonal and communications skills with a good command of the English language in order to develop effective and trusting relationships with students.

Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

• Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program. 

• Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

• Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements. 

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
