  • BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Open-Source Integration Architect to influence the design, development, and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available open-source integration solutions for our growing Enterprise Integration Services team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in open-source technologies and a strong background in CI/CD pipelines and production deployments.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design and implement end-to-end open-source integration solutions using platforms like Apache Camel, Apache Kafka, and similar technologies.
  • Lead the architecture and implementation of CI/CD pipelines for integration solutions to ensure efficient and reliable production deployments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define integration requirements and develop technical solutions that meet business needs.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and deployment guides.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on open-source integration projects, enforcing best practices and open-source compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues in production environments, working with development and operations teams to implement fixes and enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain testing and validation procedures to ensure solution quality and reliability.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in open-source integration, applying new knowledge to continuously improve existing solutions and develop innovative ones.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience with software development, installation, and configuration management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in system and application integration, with a strong focus on open-source platforms.
  • Essential: 2+ years of hands-on experience with open-source integration platforms such as Apache Camel, Apache Kafka, etc.
  • Strong understanding of integration architectures, including pub/sub, API gateways, and canonical standards.
  • Proven experience with CI/CD and production deployments, specifically with Git and either Flex Deploy or Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with DevOps/DevSecOps principles and tools.
  • Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for integration solutions.
  • Experience with historian concepts, monitoring (SolarWinds, Splunk) and logging tools.
