About us: Linklaters is a global law firm, with 31 offices in 21 countries worldwide.

Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.

We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.

Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.

We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.

The role:

We are looking for a BD Manager to shape and deliver business development strategies that support growth across our Litigation, Arbitration, and Investigations (LAI) practice. In this role, you’ll use data-led insights and deep sector knowledge to identify opportunities, drive cross-practice collaboration, and strengthen client relationships. Working closely with colleagues across the Business Development and Marketing function, you’ll also contribute to initiatives that align with firm-wide priorities and client needs. You’ll be part of a collaborative, globally diverse team committed to driving revenue growth and enhancing the firm’s market presence.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of business development plans to drive growth across the LAI practice.

  • Align local LAI and client targeting strategies with global BD objectives and the firm’s broader strategic goals.

  • Build strong connections across global BD and BDM teams to ensure local alignment and foster collaboration.

  • Maximise the use of global resources, tools, and shared services to support BD activity.

  • Lead the creation and execution of focused LAI and client growth plans, identifying cross-selling opportunities across practice areas.

  • Contribute to winning strategies and high-quality pitch and panel submissions for LAI matters.

  • Collaborate with Client & Sector BD teams to develop LAI-led campaigns and engage priority clients.

  • Use data-led insights and market intelligence to identify opportunities, manage pipelines, and inform BD strategy.

What we’re looking for:

  •  Experienced in business development within legal services, particularly in Litigation, Arbitration, and Investigations (LAI) or similar practice areas.

  • Proven success in designing and delivering BD strategies that align with organisational objectives.

  • Skilled in working across global teams and fostering collaboration between offices and functions.

  • Strong analytical capabilities, with a track record of using data insights to inform BD activities and identify growth opportunities.

  • Familiar with contributing to strategic pitches and panel submissions, and building relationships to support cross-selling initiatives.

  • Confident in using technology and BD tools to generate actionable insights and support decision-making.
