Description
First Baptist Dallas seeks Christ-centered professionals, who want to join a team of disciplined and talented superstars, committed to working together to accomplish our mission. The Senior Accountant will assist the Controller in the work functions of the Finance and Accounting ministry area and provide support to other team members.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting the Controller with reviewing various journal entries before posting to the general ledger
- Responsible for reviewing and recording investment activity and reconciling to net asset accounts
- Responsible for assisting the Controller with research and implementation regarding special projects
- Responsible for assisting the Controller with the preparation and review of month-end and fiscal year-end close processes
- Responsible for assisting the Controller in the preparation and administration of the annual church audit
- Responsible for assisting the Controller in preparing and administering an annual budget that adequately supports the church’s strategic intentions
- Responsible for assisting staff with financial questions, reports, budgets, etc.
- Responsible for functioning in an interactive and cross-functional relationship with all other ministries and support areas of the church
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Controller

Professional & Education (Certifications or Licenses)
- Embody the Green Team Characteristics and work according to Operating Principles
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must have excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- Should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in business systems administration & management
- Should have at least a Bachelor’s Level Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
Physical
- Must have the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
- Requires viewing a computer screen for extended periods of time
