Key Carrier Policy and Procedure

1. Purpose This policy defines the roles, responsibilities, and expectations for Key Carriers to ensure smooth store operations, security, and customer service while upholding company policies.

2. Scope This policy applies to all Key Carriers employed by Better Together Animal Alliance

3. Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a leadership figure during assigned shifts.
• Open and close the store following company protocols.
• Ensure the security of store keys and restrict unauthorized access.
• Act as a liaison between sales associates and management.

4. Customer Service

• Greet customers and assist with inquiries in a professional manner.
• Resolve customer complaints and escalate issues as needed.
• Ensure all team members provide a high level of customer service.

5. Sales and Operational Duties

• Support sales initiatives by engaging with customers and promoting products.
• Monitor store performance and assist in achieving sales targets.
• Process sales transactions accurately, offer round-ups and ask if they have a reward card, and manage cash handling procedures.

6. Store Operations

• Follow opening and closing procedures, including cash deposits.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stock levels within the store.
• Assist with receiving shipments and restocking inventory.
• Ensure visual merchandising standards are met.

7. Security and Loss Prevention

• Monitor and prevent theft through loss prevention strategies.
• Ensure all security measures are followed, including alarm systems and surveillance monitoring.
• Report any suspicious behavior or incidents to management immediately.

8. Health and Safety

• Enforce health and safety protocols for employees and customers.
• Ensure emergency exits are clear and safety equipment is accessible.
• Report and address any safety concerns or incidents.

9. Professional Conduct

• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Uphold company policies and ethical guidelines.
• Support teamwork and contribute to a positive work environment.

10. Performance and Compliance

• Adhere to all store policies and procedures.

11. Disciplinary Actions Failure to adhere to company policies may result in disciplinary action, including verbal warnings, written notices, suspension, or termination, based on the severity of the infraction.
