Position Summary

The General Manager at Flexcraft is responsible for leading all plant-level operations at our Neptune City facility. This role carries full P&L accountability and is tasked with delivering excellence across safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while building high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement.

The General Manager serves as the strategic and operational leader of the facility — aligning daily operations with corporate objectives, optimizing production, and fostering a culture grounded in accountability, innovation, and Flexcraft’s core values: OWN IT.

This is a high-impact leadership role offering strategic influence, operational autonomy, and the opportunity to shape the future of a growing plastics manufacturing business.

Key Responsibilities

 

Operations Management

  • Oversee all manufacturing operations including production, quality, maintenance, and logistics
  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with corporate goals
  • Monitor and improve KPIs for safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies
  • Manage production scheduling, inventory levels, and customer fulfillment
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build, coach, and retain a high-performing team
  • Establish a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Implement performance management and leadership development programs
  • Drive collaboration between departments (Engineering, Quality, Commercial, etc.)
  • Champion employee engagement and succession planning

 

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage annual budgets and long-range capital plans
  • Drive cost optimization and margin improvements
  • Analyze financial performance and implement corrective actions
  • Justify capital investments with ROI-focused business cases
  • Report monthly and quarterly results to senior leadership

 

 

Strategic Planning & Growth

  • Create long-term strategies for capacity expansion and process advancement
  • Lead implementation of new technologies and systems
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering on new product introductions
  • Build scalable operations to support business growth
  • Contribute to corporate-level strategic planning initiatives

 

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through on-time, high-quality delivery
  • Host customer tours and represent the facility during audits and visits
  • Build strong partnerships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders
  • Support new business development and customer onboarding efforts

Qualifications

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, or related field (master’s preferred)

Experience & Skills:

  • 7–10 years of experience in plant or operations management in plastics manufacturing
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities
  • Deep understanding of blow molding, injection molding, and polymer processing
  • Proficient with ERP systems (IQMS preferred)
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success managing large teams and P&L accountability

Preferred Skills

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
  • Experience launching or scaling manufacturing facilities
  • Financial planning and capital investment experience
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and GMP compliance

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift boxes weighing 20–40 lbs
  • Sit for extended periods and perform repetitive hand/wrist motions
  • Frequent reaching, walking, and movement throughout the plant
  • Close and color vision required for inspections and computer work
