The Production Assistant, under the direction of the Production Lead, is responsible for general entertainment production as well as convention events that may require audio, video and lighting. The position is responsible for providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)

  • Creates excellent customer relationships and provide top notch customer service by following the company's Customer Service Standards.
  • Loads in and out stage and sound equipment of entertainment acts.
  • Sets up, wires, and maintains stage, lighting, and audio equipment per the direction of the Production Lead.
  • Assists the Production Lead in programming lighting board and focusing lighting system on trusses.
  • Assists Production Lead in setting up appropriate audio gear for each event.
  • Assists banquet staff in setting up convention functions when audio, video, and lighting is required.
  • Performs general cleaning and maintenance of entertainment equipment.
  • Ensures all assigned projects are completed efficiently and accurately.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)

  • Complies with Company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Attends all mandatory trainings and meetings.
  • All other job-related duties as assigned.

CONTACTS:

Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments and outside vendors/service providers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position very heavy with lifting of objects over 100 pounds and frequent lifting/carrying of more than 50 pounds. Physical factors include constant standing, walking, pushing/pulling, use of hearing; frequent sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, manual handling, typing, bending; occasional use of near/midrange/far vision, depth perception and color/field of vision. Working conditions include constant exposure to noise, air quality, vibration; occasional exposure to weather, extreme heat/cold and wet/humidity. Potential hazards include constant exposure to moving mechanical parts, electric shock, high exposed places, equipment and typing.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. Trade or Technical School Certificate for Audio/Visual is preferred.

Experience: Two years of experience working with sound, lighting or entertainment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of large-scale audio and lighting gear preferred. Knowledge of or ability to learn to use word processing and spreadsheet and data base software required. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, by telephone and by email. Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a dynamic team environment required. Must have organizational skills and be able to plan, prioritize and manage work load to meet goals in a timely manner. Must be able to work extended hours when needed. Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to travel. Must be able to handle stress and meet deadlines. Must have excellent public relation/customer service skills and be able to exhibit friendly and positive attitude and establish and maintain effective communication with co-workers, supervisors and guests. Must maintain confidentiality. Native American preferred.
