Description
- Serve as initial NBH contact for referents, counties, and third-party payers. Schedule intake interviews and schedule with staff.
 - Describe NBH program/services to referents and potential clients. Develop and maintain working relationships with referents, clients and payers.
 - Interview and assess referred clients for admission to programs.
 - Schedule admissions and maintain current client lists.
 - Coordinate and assist with admissions at various locations as needed.
 - Maintain client data and prepare reports for evaluation and budget proposals.
 - Verify insurance coverage for each CD and MH client (pre-authorization) prior to admittance.
 - Assist in securing funding authorizations prior to admission through CCDTF, PMAPs, commercial policies, and private pay.
 - Track and maintain comprehensive assessments. Communicate new or updated needs to counseling staff.
 - Role model behavior which is consistent with and supportive of people in recovery from substance use disorder. Such behavior will include upholding ethical standards of the program and reliable attendance.
 - Participate in weekly staffing meetings and supervision meetings.
 - Provide court, Department of Corrections, and other referral sources with updates and coordination of client intakes.
 - Work cooperatively with outside agencies.
 - Intake coordination into outpatient, sober living etc. and recommended continuum of care following.
 - Facilitation of referrals to mental health services as identified by a client's comprehensive assessment or treatment plan.
 - Other duties may be assigned.
 
Requirements
- Prior office experience required and understanding of substance use disorder treatment preferred.
 - Excellent communication and detail orientation are essential.
 - Experience with Excel and clinical databases.
 - Ability to effectively handle detail; able to prioritize multiple projects.
 - Possess demonstrated ability to relate well to diverse staff and client population and to manage personnel, agency, and client information in a confidential and professional manner.
 - High School diploma/GED required; some college preferred
 - Must be able to pass DHS background study and be free of communicable disease.
 - Must be 18 years or older.
 - First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30-days of hire);
 - Minimum of 1 year free from substance abuse;
 - Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record; and
 - Physical ability to perform duties as required by the position.
