Community Arts MFA is seeking a faculty member to teach a 1.5 credit section of MFACA 5620: Seminar II, a core requirement for the Community Arts degree, beginning Spring AY26. This class will consist of creative and academic writing components, as well as frameworks for mission and vision statements in working individually, and with organizations.

Responsibilities:

-Must be available to teach Mondays, 1:30-4:30pm, beginning January 20th, 2026- Spring Break (last class: March 9th, 2026).

Faculty Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Developing a 16-week course syllabus 

  • Lecturing, leading class discussions and conducting other teaching activities during scheduled classes

  • Creating, administering and grading various assessment methods

  • Utilize course budget to bring in guest speakers & critics

  • Answering questions and providing additional support for students as needed

  • Keeping track of student attendance

  • Submitting grades for all students

  • Following established expectations and protocols for the department

Requirements:

  • Must have MA/MFA degree 

  • Knowledge of Baltimore's arts & cultural scene, history

  • Professional level artistry in their field 

  • Experience teaching in community or classroom settings

Salary:  Commensurate with experience and college policy.

  •  Required training: Handbook orientation, Anti-Harassment, Hazard Communication, Emergency Plans & Fire Prevention, Personal Protection Equipment. (additional training may be added, SEE: EHS Manager training schedule)
