Are you ready to take the next big step in your hospitality career? Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe is seeking a dynamic, financial savvy and career driven individual for our Finance Manager

  • You have a mind for business acumen that results in achieving financial goals for the hotel by monitoring labor, cost of supplies and other expenses.
  • Your 2+ years in a financial managerial roll and experience preferably in a luxury hospitality environment will bring a lot to the table.
  • Your degree in Finance or Hospitality Management will be highly valued.
  • You have strong communication skills with a solid understanding of English (Spanish would be a plus).

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • To assist the Assistant Director of Finance and Director of Finance in the administration of all financial aspects of the hotel’s operation
  • To ensure that all local and corporate policies and procedures are observed
  • To supervise the day-to-day operation of the Accounting office

PEOPLE FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain harmonious and professional relationship with all departments and Home Office.
  • Plan, organize, lead and control different projects and control different projects and activities within Finance team.
  • Have the ability to supervise the day-to-day duties of the Finance team and assist as necessary.
  • Actively support other department managers with matters dealing with labor standards, payroll and other issues that may arise.
  • Supervise, train and motivate department staff to thoroughly understand their responsibilities.
  • Prepare reviews and development plans and take appropriate action with Accounting staff.
  • Meet with Assistant DOF on a regular basis to communicate the all accounting activities.
  • Have a working knowledge of all areas in Finance to ensure that coverage can be provided for employees on vacation or leave.

PRODUCT FUNCTIONS:

  • Thoroughly understand and possess a working knowledge of the Finance manual.
  • Good understanding of Month-End process including preparation of financial statements, accruals and journal entries, maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Coordinate, observe and prepare operating equipment, supply inventories.
  • Ensure strict access controls over unused checks to prevent unauthorized use of the documents and ensure there is segregation of duties in place.
  • Ensure that monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts are prepared and all bank reconciliations are countersigned by Assistant DOF or Director of Finance on a monthly and on a quarterly basis.
  • Prepare gratuity reconciliations on bi-weekly basis for every payroll.
  • Ensure that the local membership program is updated on daily basis.
  • Process Travel Agent commissions on weekly basis.
  • Prepare required backup or work papers in order to provide analysis and control over balance sheet and P&L accounts and to serve the purpose of internal and external audits.
  • Be familiar with the program of records control, security, retention and disposal in accordance with hotel policy and procedures.

PROFIT FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure that income is properly recorded accurately and timely on daily basis.
  • Monitor and control expenses of the hotel paying special attention to the daily reporting.
  • Ensure that House Funds and Floats Counts are up to date and limit any kind of exposure that would affect the profitability.
  • Assist Department Heads and Division Heads in researching any discrepancies or problems highlighted by the daily, weekly and monthly labor productivity reports.

Approximate Time of Duties

Administrative Duties – 20%, Coaching & Development – 20%, Month End Duties – 20%, Daily & Weekly Tasks – 40%
