 About the Role: 

Are you an experienced Cost Accountant with strong Manufacturing Industry experience? Are you looking to hold a key role in an accounting department working with the Cost Accounting Manager and CFO? Has your accounting background provided you with the experience to collect, analyze and extract information to improve the profitability of a business? In this role you will track cost from raw material to finished product, providing analysis for both inventory and labor, assisting the Controller to streamline our cost and improve profitability. Job Summary:

Cost Accountant 1 is a full-time position based in our manufacturing plant in Lincolnton, NC. This position will report directly to the Controller. This role is responsible to compute, classify, record and verify numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records used to accurately cost inventory and labor. 

In This Role, You Will: 

· Gather information to prepare and analyze cost reports for raw material, work in process, finished goods inventory, and labor.

· Analyze production job costs throughout the month; identify potential issues with production reporting and expected standard     margins. 

· Prepare reports comparing standard and actual production.

· Analysis of changes in product bill of materials, labor routers and effect on cost.

· Examine and review cost records and ensure cost data accuracy.

· Maintain cost accounting system for parts and equipment, support annual standard cost roll process.

· Maintain list price information for equipment and service parts.

· Maintain truck chassis and demo/R&D inventory.

· Record, analyze, and review inventory count adjustments.

· Assist in month end close of general ledger; prepare journal entries and inventory account reconciliations.

· Assist Controller with coordination and planning of annual physical inventory.

· Prepare monthly excess and obsolete inventory reserve calculations; prepare monthly inventory capitalization calculations.

Requirements

In the Role You Will Need:

· Ability to work onsite at our Lincolnton, NC Manufacturing Facility.

· Bachelor's degree in accounting / engineering.

· Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong mathematical and analytical skills plus attention to detail.

· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across multiple levels of organization.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
