Laboratory Technician/Assistant
The Frederick, Maryland Office of Goodwin & Associates, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a Temporary Laboratory Technician.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Completing and coordinating post-field processing of collections, including checking in artifacts, washing, bagging, and labeling collections for curation;
- Basic sorting of artifacts;
- Organizing and digitizing field records;
Other duties may include but are not limited to:
- Photographing artifacts for presentation in reports and other publications;
- Assisting in basic data entry;
- Basic artifact identification
This is an office/lab position and does require the ability to sit and stand for extended periods. May be required to lift heavy objects, such as artifact boxes and perform repetitive tasks.
Minimum qualifications include:
- An interest in archaeology, particularly in archaeological laboratory work;
- A desire to learn more about archaeology and laboratory processes;
- Highly organized and able to work independently;
- A valid Driver’s License
This is a temporary, hourly position. Amount of hours per week will vary based on work load.
