Portuguese & Spanish Language Assessment Specialist presso Cambridge Public Schools

Description of Service Opportunity: 

The Portuguese & Spanish Language Assessment Specialist will administer language proficiency tests upon enrollment at the Student Registration Center (SRC). The candidate will successfully:
- Administer Portuguese language proficiency tests to JK/K students who are enrolling in CPS
- Maintain accurate testing and student record information
- Maintain student/family confidentiality
- Maintain accurate student testing data and ELL enrollment records/information
- Perform other duties as determined by the Coordinator of English Language Learner Programs

Minimum Requirements:

The Language Assessment Specialist will be experienced in the administration of the Portuguese & Spanish Language Assessment for JK/K students. In addition, the candidate will be effective in working with immigrant families and creating an environment that fosters mutual respect and cultural sensitivity.

Required education and experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher in ESL, Bilingual Education, or a foreign language
Experience using WIDA and IPT language assessments
Native fluency in Portuguese and Spanish, and proficiency in English.

Length of Contract:

October 20, 2025 to November 17, 2025

Contract Amount:

Not to exceed $1050.00

Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a non-exempt employee and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours
