Description
Virginia Physicians for Women is in search of a versatile IT Support & Systems Specialist to join our team. This IT role is a unique blend of first-level technical support and advanced systems expertise. The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-focused, and comfortable working directly with end users to resolve issues, set up accounts and devices, and serve as a subject matter expert for our practice’s systems and processes. This position is onsite and requires travel to our six office locations in Richmond metro and Prince George to provide support to staff and maintain IT equipment. This is a full time position.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Strategic Solutions to provide onsite IT support across all six office locations of VPFW.
- Set up and configure new employee accounts, hardware (PCs, printers, phones), and software (Modmed,Outlook,Klara,8X8) based on role requirements.
- Manage user roles, permissions, and access control in alignment with security policies through role change or terminations.
- Serve as an expert user and administrator for VPFW systems, acting as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting, configuration, and training.
- Become super user with Modmed (EMR) to serve as go to erson for navigation questions and concerns. Input and monitor system tickets to ensure issues are resolved and communicated appropriately to affected departments/end users.
- Coordinate and implement new features, upgrades, and platform enhancements in line with vendor release schedules.
- Maintain thorough documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures for compliance and support knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with best practices, emerging features and tech, and relevant IT standards. Evaluate new tools and system changes for compatibility, performance, and long-term suitability.
- Support managers with monitoring and analyzing departmental performance metrics.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate degree or bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years in IT support, with at least 2 years in advanced support or escalation role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive).
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, wireless troubleshooting).
- Proven troubleshooting skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated interest in business systems, cloud platforms, or process automation.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-pace environment.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow within the organization.
