Job Description:

Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) seeks an experienced and motivated strategy and planning professional for the role of Director - FFIO Business Strategy.  This role is a highly collaborative position which requires regular active engagement with the Head of Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations, and the FFIO senior team. Providing thought leadership on strategic and operating goals, stability and resilience and identifying implications for business goals and objectives.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
An advanced degree, (MBA or Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of consulting or strategy experience), and professional accreditation is preferred.  We are looking for expertise in strategy, development, portfolio planning, consulting, business enablement and engagement. Outstanding communication, story-telling ability, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.  Strong leadership skills with proven ability to motivate and achieve results through others including direct and indirect reports and business partners. Proven ability to translate strategy into action that drives clear and measurable outcomes.

The skills you bring are:

  • Proven ability to provide structure, coordination, and Chief of Staff support to ensure FFIO Senior Team engagement on relevant topics internal and external to FFIO and Fidelity Brokerage Operations & Technology (FBOT).

  • Create, facilitate, and lead preparation of Executive, Board, and Operating Committee analyses and presentations.

  • Provide consulting and limited execution support on strategic programs that span multiple functions across FFIO.

  • Provide oversight leadership and expertise to allow FFIO to effectively and efficiently understand and manage risk, legal and regulatory duties through broad program management.

  • Familiarity with Fidelity’s strategic planning cycles and methodologies preferred                           

As the FFIO - Head of Business Strategy you will also be expected to facilitate the consolidation and delivery of the overall strategy for the FFIO business, manifested in a multi-year plan and supporting materials, which will include:

  • Articulation of our top priorities and the bodies of work that will align to those priorities, along with their respective statuses and impact.

  • Development and maintenance of leadership scorecards that align tightly to the strategy plan.

  • In partnership with Finance, the budget creation that can deliver success against strategic priorities while meeting financial constraints.

  • Facilitate and support the FFIO’s leadership team’s discussion of strategic and financial priorities; coordinate the timely execution of strategy and planning deliverables across operational teams 

  • Participate in and support the development of the FFIO strategy and transform the organization’s strategies, goals, and vision into execution and measurements. 

  • Partner with Technology and Finance to lead efforts to develop business cases, which will secure approval and funding of new & prospective cross FFIO initiatives. 

  • Build and deliver updates on the financial and strategic performance of the FFIO business within FBOT and across the rest of the firm.

  • Partner with Technology and Finance on a variety of regular and ad-hoc financial and strategic processes to drive decision making, enable visibility and ensure tighter alignment with enterprise goals.

  • Team with FFIO and FBOT communications to support communications from the Head of Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations and the Head of Fund and Brokerage Operations & Technology.

  • Develop new ideas and concepts to provoke dialog and challenge the thinking behind our strategy and plan.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
