SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE: The Sr. Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, cost effective, and on time manufacturing of NWPX Park products. The Sr. Plant Manager will drive accountability through management of Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery KPI’s and will have broad authority to change integral department processes aligned with NWPX Park strategic goals. The Sr. Plant Manager must embrace and support the core values of Accountability, Commitment, and Teamwork (ACT).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be the site leader to ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety policies.
- Lead and participate in safety audits, toolbox talks, and corrective action plans.
- Plan, organize, and direct all precast production activities to meet production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets.
- Ensure plant equipment and production processes are optimized for safety, efficiency, and reliability.
- Oversee material usage and inventory management to control costs and minimize waste.
- Coordinate with engineering, scheduling, and logistics to meet delivery commitments.
- Partner with Quality Control to maintain compliance with project specifications, NPCA or PCI standards, and ASTM requirements.
- Oversee dispatch and delivery operations to ensure on-time, accurate, and safe product shipments.
- Coordinate with scheduling and logistics teams to balance production flow, delivery capacity, and customer needs.
- Manage field service operations, ensuring timely support for installations, site repairs, and warranty issues.
- Oversee purchasing activities for raw materials, consumables, and supplies—maintaining appropriate inventory levels and controlling costs.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure material availability and cost competitiveness.
- Supervise, train, and mentor plant staff including Production Supervisors, Leads, Planners, and Operators.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Monitor KPIs including labor efficiency, yield, scrap rates, downtime, and throughput.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
- Develop and manage plant budgets and forecasts.
- Provide regular reporting on performance metrics, production output, and operational issues.
- Collaborate with corporate leadership on strategic planning and capacity expansion.
- Develops, establishes and communicates performance targets and measurements for the manufacturing team.

- Proficiency with MRP systems (SAP experience preferred).

- Exceptional time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- NPCA Master Precaster certification or 10+ years’ experience in precast manufacturing.
- 5+ years in plant management or senior leadership role, preferably within multi-department or multi-plant operation.
- Strong understanding of precast production methods, mix designs, and reinforcement detailing.
Experience or Certification in Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing preferred
